When Stacey sat me down at the kitchen table and told me she was pregnant, all I remember was the immediate state of shock. Followed by immediate happiness with more then a touch of overwhelming fear that comes with the notion of being responsible for bringing a child into this crazy world. Over the next nine months the range of emotions we would both go through (admittedly Stacey had more going on then I did) made us realize how much our lives would be changing. Those carefree nights out for dinner or catching a movie, not worrying what time we got home because, hey, it was the weekend. We could sleep in, laze around in our PJs and sip our coffee. When Cooper arrived he threw us in the deep end of parenthood right away and we knew it would be many years before we would get a full night sleep again. And sleeping in was a thing of the past.
But even with the sleep deprivation, all it takes is a sweet little smile or a giggle to make all that go away, and you are quickly aware of how rewarding being a parent can be.
Adam & Mary Ann are anxious to meet their little ones. Yep, that’s plural! They are expecting twins, and curiosity got the better of them and they found out they are having girls. Adam is preparing himself to be outnumbered and Mary Ann is simply glowing. The nursery is painted a cheery pink, the cribs are all set up and their family and friends are all helping them prepare with all the baby items.
All that’s really left now is to wait.

Ugh, winter. Some days feel so long, and gray and just plain blah. And it seems to go on forever! We find the best cure for the winter blues is to bundle up and get outside! Feeling the sun and enjoying some fresh air makes all the difference. And the light during these months is really quite lovely, especially later in the day. We headed out before lunch last weekend to take our little guy sledding for the first time – yet another first for him, and us as a family!
This weekend marked another milestone for our little guy (they seem to be coming fast and furious these days) — his first haircut! Of course we took our camera to document the event, and yes, we may have been a little shutter happy. But come on — how cute is this? This is the “before” shot — I loved his crazy hair, but admit that it was getting in his eyes.
